A Rich History of Faith and Service
Founded in August 1874, Emanuel Lutheran Church has been a cherished part of the Ludington community for more than 150 years. Our congregation's roots reach back to Scandinavian immigrants, particularly those from Sweden, whose faith and traditions shaped the early years of our church. For generations, worship services were conducted in Swedish, reflecting the heritage of our founding members.
While our congregation has grown and evolved through the years, one commitment has remained steadfast: serving our community with faith, compassion, and love. From our earliest beginnings to the present day, generations of dedicated members and spiritual leaders have carried forward this tradition of service, making Emanuel Lutheran Church not only a place of worship, but a lasting source of fellowship, support, and hope in the heart of Ludington.
